Happy Resurrection Sunday! Jesus is Risen!
The Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum, Catching up with the Hughes, Cracker Barrel, and Prayer
Happy Resurrection Sunday everyone! This is the time where I and millions of other believers in Christ celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus and His defeat of death, hell, and the grave! As my Dad says, “It’s the most important day in history” and as the Apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:12-26 (NIV)
12 But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14 And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. 15 More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. 19 If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.
20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him. 24 Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. 25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death.
Amen and amen. If you’d like to read more on the Resurrection of Jesus and how one day we as Christians will receive a new body from God you can do so by reading more in 1 Corinthians 15 (LINK)
Heaven does have a very strict entry policy though as outlined throughout scripture and to hit some of the main things, though not an exhaustive list, that will prevent your entry is:
Not having Jesus as your King and Savior.
Having Jesus and other gods you serve.
Mormon and Jehovah Witness.
Have sex with someone of the opposite sex outside of marriage.
Adultery.
Living under a false identity of the LGBTQ+ or supporting a family member trapped in it to continue living out their sin.
“Knowing” Jesus casually but not confessing that He’s King over your life.
Trying to be “good enough” on your own hoping Jesus will let you in (LINK).
and the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars (Revelation 21:8).
So there you have it - If you found yourself in this list do not worry! Jesus has already paid the price for you to be both free and forgiven of your sins! 1 John 4:19 states that He loved you before we ever loved Him, and He was beaten within a inch of His life to where he couldn’t even be recognized as a man and then crucified so you could be broken out of any sin and false identity you’ve taken on and are living in. BUT! You must pray to Jesus and confess your sins as stated in 1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
and in Romans 10:9-11
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”
Here is a sample prayer you can pray to become part of God’s Kingdom:
Heavenly Father,
I come before You with a humble heart, acknowledging that I have sinned against You. I confess all my sins—every thought, word, and action that has fallen short of Your holiness. I repent, turning away from my old ways, and I ask for Your mercy and forgiveness.
Your Word says in 1 John 1:9 that if I confess my sins, You are faithful and just to forgive me and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness. So I come with faith in Your promise, trusting that You are washing me clean even now.
Lord Jesus, I believe in my heart that You are the Son of God, that You died for my sins, and that God raised You from the dead. I confess with my mouth that You are Lord, my Savior, and my King. I surrender my life to You.
According to Romans 10:9-11, I know that by believing in You, I receive righteousness, and by confessing You, I receive salvation. I believe in You, Jesus, and I trust that I will never be put to shame.
Thank You for forgiving me, saving me, and making me new. I receive Your grace and choose to follow You all the days of my life.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
If you sincerely prayed that prayer of salvation and repented of your sins, and turn and keep turning from them by the grace and empowerment of Jesus and the Holy Spirit, congratulations! You’re a Christian now! You next steps should be finding a church that doesn't support any of the sins above, attending that church regularly, and get a Bible if you don’t have one already. Also, I’d be glad to help you as I can via email on how to grow in your new Christian life!
2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV)
For we walk by faith, not by sight.
Here’s a few pictures I took from the Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum that Stephen (not pictured), Aaron, and I went to yesterday in Calera along with pictures from the train ride:

The railroad was really interesting hearing the history and asking questions about the 5 train cars while riding on them; many of the cars were from the 1950s & 60s, with one of the oldest car being from the 1920s (I think) and still running in great shape. Pulling the 5 train cars was a diesel engine that was retired from the Vietnam War. Also, it was really fun to move about the train cars as they were being pulled along, and I felt like a kid again that didn’t have any health problems ✔️ (haha). It was great to be back in Birmingham! even just for a short meal at Eli’s Jerusalem Grill (LINK) while catching up with my friends Mr. Paul & Mrs. Lucy! Love Y’all so much! They actually saved my life on 09/28/2023 which you can read about here:

Healthy weight gain.
Brain Cancer.
Revival and Repentance in my own heart that I would crucify anything holding me back from Jesus, take up my cross, and die to my worldly desires.
Sharing Jesus with the lost and not shy back from it.
Blessing in Christ Jesus,
Andrew Jordan
